Europubliciades contest   2017

 

Subject and conditions of participation

  1. The University Institute of Technology OF MONTPELLIER is organizing the “Europubliciades” contest of CREATIVE ADVERTISING which will take place in Montpellier on MARCH 9,2017

 

  1. This contest is open to all European students enrolled in a non audiovisual-specialized course of study. Students have to be in an undergraduate program, and must FOLLOW THE ESTABLISHED RULES. Its purpose is to put students’ creativity in competition. Submitted advertisements can focus on an enterprise, a brand, a product or a service. These can be local, national, or international products. Advertisements have to include an original slogan. Advertisements concerning alcohol, cigarettes, gambling and casinos are forbidden. Videos and posters have to follow the rules of the ARPP established for any public broadcasting.

 

  1. There are two categories open for competition in the Europubliciades contest. Actors and the choice of where the ads are filmed are up to the participants. However, the use of films made by professionals or any outside person is forbidden.

 

Video part:

  1. Making of a 35 seconds long advertising video (not including credits). It has to be for an existing organization (companies, associations, institutions) which sponsors the job.

  2. An original slogan must appear.

  3. Videos must be accompanied by a copy of an agreement signed by the sponsor.

  4. Each video in English must be subtitled in French. Each video in another language must be subtitled in English. The font that has to be used is Arial (regular or bold).

  5. 30 videos will be selected for the event

  1. The registration fee is 50€ per category. Student groups can take part in both categories.

 

Pre selection:

  1. Videos must be submitted to the pre-selection jury. Each project will be sent as a digital file (Quicktime file, AVI, HDV (1440x1080px), AVCHD (1920x1080px) or format DV, HDV, DVCAM. It will be identified on a media storage device (DVD, USB stick…) by the following references:

    1. Name of the sponsor

    2. Names and surnames of the students

    3. Name of the university

 

Posters will be submitted to the pre-selection jury. Each project must be sent as a digital file, A3 format (297x420 mm), 300 dpi (3508x4961 px) in jpeg or pdf.

 

  1. Each project (posters and videos) will be subject to a registration including the following mandatory documents:

 

To be sent before the 18th of December, 2016:  One registration form per project, signed with the words “read and agreed to”, going with a commitment on honor.


 

To be sent before the 12th of February, 2017:

-The video and/or poster according to the requirements in paragraph 5.

-An information sheet per project stating in the following order: Name of the sponsor/ names of all students/ E-mail address and phone number of a student/ Name of the university/ Original slogan/ Synopsis (for a video)/ Goal and audience targeted by the sponsor. The information sheet must be sent by E-mail. A photo representing the video will also be needed, for the promotional purposes of the contest.

 

Any incomplete file will not be taken in consideration.

 

Unless otherwise specified, submitted projects can be broadcast for the promotion of the Europubliciades contest. Any digital media will be kept by the University Institute of Technology of Montpellier, for archival purposes. Nevertheless, participants wishing to take their media back should send a prepaid envelope to France or abroad, or take it back after the contest.

Selection (for the contest)

 

  1. The selection of received projects is to be determined by the pre-selection jury. 30 posters and 30 videos will be selected for the Europubliciades contest 2017.

 

The evaluation criteria are understandability, creativity and originality, technical and aesthetic qualities. Pre-selection results will be provided by e-mail and mail for the videos and posters selected for the competition.

 

  1. The Europubliciades 2017 organization committee will name a jury composed of professionals in commercial communication, graphics and audiovisual work. It will grant the awards under its responsibility. The evaluation criteria are the same as the pre-selection criteria.

Poster category:

-The Jury’s Grand Prix.

-The European award

- The best concept award

-The best aesthetic award

-The best technical realization award

-The best slogan award

-The “Public’s favorite” award

 


 

Video category:

-The Jury’s Grand Prix

-The European award

- The best aesthetic award

-The best concept award

-The best technical realization award

-The best slogan award

-The “Public’s favorite” award


 

Each project will be evenly taken in consideration, and awards will be fairly allocated by the pre-selection jury and the jury. The pre-selection jury’s and the jury’s decisions are irrevocable.

 

Broadcasting/Documenting authorizations.

 

  1. Authors will renounce their rights to their creation for the duration and in the framework of the Europubliciades contest. Selected projects can be used for promotional purposes, in any type of media: Invitations, newspapers, the internet and television.

 

  1. Every winning video and poster can be used for a promotional purpose in festivals or non-commercial events in France or abroad. Authors will be informed and will possibly give their consent.

 

  1. Selected projects can be referenced in a retrievable database on the web, from the Europubliciades site, via a Youtube account, unless otherwise clearly specified by the authors in the registration form.



 

With his or her registration, every participant in the Europubliciades contest agrees to the above stated regulations.
